Quilting FUNdamentals: Strip Piecing

Precut 2.5” fabric strips wound into a cake go by various names—jelly roll, design roll—and with their satisfying heft and swirl of color, make tempting objects to purchase. But what do you do with them? Let Julietta show you with the Honeycomb quilt, a fun, colorful and easy quilt from Pam and Nicky Lintott's Jelly Roll Quilts in a Weekend. All you need is a jelly roll of fabrics with a good range of contrasting colors that you love (if the fabrics are too similar you will not see the effect of the hexagons), some fabrics for the border and the binding, and a 60-degree triangle ruler measuring at least 8 inches.
