Sashiko Scarf

Saturday Sept. 19  1-5PM

Create a beautiful and unique accessory!
Using the Japanese practice of Sashiko Embroidery create a unique and versatile scarf
or shawl. A simple running stitch creates bold, geometric designs inspired by nature,
art, and architecture. In this workshop, we will handle Sashiko needles, prepare
Sashiko thread, draw out grids and patterns. Using our “small stabs” stitching strategy,
we will embellish and transform a soft cotton 36 inch square into a striking, functional
accessory. Choose from a selection of Sashiko patterns and floral motif stencils. We’ll
provide everything you need. All skill levels welcome!

Class kit includes access to all the essential communal tools and materials plus one
yard of scarf fabric, one pair of Olympus brand Sashiko needles, circle templates, and
pattern instructions.
Please wear your good reading glasses! Bring a snack and water bottle to sustain you
while stitching.

Class requires 4 students to run. 

This class will be held at Beetle and Fred, 217 Main Street. 

By enrolling in this class you agree to the following policies:

•  Full tuition is due at time of registration.

• Visting instructor refund policy: You may withdraw from a class and receive a full refund, minus 4% processing fees, up to 7 days before class begins.  After that time AND UP TO 72 HOURS BEFORE CLASS, you will receive a refund (minus 4% processing fees) ONLY if we can fill your spot. You are also welcome to transfer your enrollment to a friend. Cancellations within 72 hours of class and no-shows are not eligible for refunds or class credit.
