Sashiko Wristlet

Sunday 7/17, 1-5PM
Embroider and hand sew a small bag for stowing essentials. We will gather around the workshop table to engage in the serene, time-honored practice of Sashiko Japanese embroidery. A simple running stitch will transform linen into an adorable and practical drawstring pouch. All steps of the Sashiko “small stabs” process will be covered; drawing out grids, laying out patterns, making a stitching plan. Choose from traditional Sashiko patterns and Floral Motif Stencils. Students will hand sew the top casing, and have a choice of hand or machine sewing the two decorated fabric panels into a fully-functional drawstring bag. All materials provided.
