Beacon Quilt Bee--Summer Camp Edition!

July 22-26, 9:30AM-12PM

Love color and texture? Love meeting people and sharing experience and encouragement? Love family and friends and want to wrap them in warmth? QUILTING IS FOR YOU. Take this class, we'll prove it--in just one week!

IF YOU'RE A BEGINNER:
Using the "Augustina" pattern, you'll learn the fundamental skills needed to make a quilt including color theory, choosing fabrics, measuring and cutting, piecing, creating a quilt top, making the quilt sandwich, quilting and binding! At the end of the week you'll have a cozy lap quilt.

IF YOU'RE A RETURNING/EXPERIENCED STUDENT:
Use the "Burn Bright" quilt pattern to practice strip piecing and sharpen your perception of color value OR work on another pattern or quilted project of your choosing (please discuss with instructor before series begins).

MATERIALS: Expect to spend between $100-$150 on the materials needed to make a throw-sized quilt (pattern; fabrics for top, backing, and binding; cotton thread for piecing and quilting; batting). We will be scheduling several pre-class orientations at Beetle and Fred to discuss the basics of color theory and fabric selection; students receive 15% off all supplies.

All following sessions will be held at our classroom in the Beacon Music Factory at 333 Fishkill Avenue.
