Sashiko Linen Coasters
Sunday May 22 1pm-4pm
Relax, slow down, stitch! With focus on the decorative aspects of the craft, workshop participants will learn how to layout a grid, draw patterns, and use Sashiko’s 'small stabs' to stitch designs onto linen. Choose from a variety Sashiko patterns; beginners can explore the basics with traditional beauties such as linked steps or flower stitch while those with previous Sashiko experience may choose to flex their skills with persimmon flower, triangle scales, or other more complex forms. or wild grasses. All tools and materials needed to complete two Sashiko embroidered coasters are included.

Instructor Bio: | Rachel shares her joy of hand-stitching with adults and children alike, teaching workshops in Sashiko Japanese Embroidery Basics, Hand Sewn Drawstring Bags, and Visible Mending. Rachel stitches, mends, sews, reads teen fiction, journals, walks, and forages for natural dye materials.
